FOR THE COMMUNITY
Marquette County has an incredible trail infrastructure but, for a lot of families and youth, the distance to the trailhead can be a barrier. This is our opportunity to bring the trailhead into town and remove that barrier. This is a space for bikers, hikers, walkers, outdoor enthusiasts and more! We’re creating an active outdoor space and community that will be open to the public.
Target Audience:

We are building this for the community in the heart of East Marquette.

An ADA standard walking path will line the perimeter of the park - expanding access beyond those interested in biking.

Bikers looking to increase their skills - bridging the gap between getting kids outside and eventually on the trail.

Brings the Trailhead in to Town
Project Details:

Prepare site for new soils, trails and features.

Construct retaining walls and trail hub with culverts and deck.

Install trails, pump track and features.
-
Construct new storage building and pavilion.

Install bike Fix-It Station and bike racks.

Rework existing parking lot and sidewalks.

Develop landscaping and rain gardens.

Install new cedar split rail fence around the site.
THE HARD TRUTH
Today’s youth are being left behind. inactive.
They’re distracted and Statistics show pediatric obesity is steadily rising, depression among 12+ year olds has doubled, screen time is as high as 8 hours
per day, loneliness is increasing, and 80% of kids are insufficiently active.
They’re growing up being told the world is fair. It’s not.
Preparing our youth for anything else is a disservice to them – to us – to our communities and to the future. The 906AT mission is to empower kids to be the best version of themselves through outdoor adventure.
We create a space where every kid participates.
Where every child has an opportunity to fall and get back up. Where every child is given the tools to develop character,
resiliency & grit. We’re looking one of today’s biggest problems in the face and
saying, “No, not today’s kids, we can do better.”
