906AT events (Polar Roll, The Crusher, Marji Gesick) support our youth resilience programs. When you sign up to #findyourlimits you are supporting twelve youth Adventure Teams across the Midwest. In 2023 we trained 400 volunteer leaders and worked with 800 youth aged 5-17 from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to Lansing, Michigan. LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and Ohio. 

 

Here’s our take on youth development – it’s pretty simple. All kids deserve an opportunity to discover the best version of themselves and those opportunities shouldn’t be limited by roster sizes or whether or not they’re interested in head-to-head competition. Some kids need more time to develop, and it’s our job to make sure they get it. We teach kids to develop a growth mindset and embrace the “Power of Yet”. We focus on effort, putting in the time, and learning to do hard things (with a smile).

 

Bottom line: Marji Gesick is about more than suffering and racing. It’s about building strong communities and leading by example. Kids forget what you tell them, but they remember what they see you do. Remember that this weekend when you’re thinking about texting #quitter. Show them you can do hard things too.
